Hanoi (VNA) Deputy Prime Minister Le Van ThanhA decision has been signed to approve the National Strategy for Environmental ProtectionTo 2030 with a vision to 2050, where the Government sets targets to stop the rising trend of environmental pollution, solve urgent problems and improve the quality of the environment step by step.

The scheme’s objectives include improving the country’s ability to deal with climate change, assuring environmental security, and building and sustaining circular, green. Economic models that are low in carbonContributing to the country’s sustainable growth goals.

The strategy offers a number of key solutions to achieve this goal, including active prevention and control of negative environmental impacts and incidents, encouraging ecological economic development, green growth and sustainable production and consumption.

Environmental zoning will also be done, as well as the improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of strategic environmental evaluation, impact assessment, or environmental management based upon environmental permits.

Facilities that pose a high risk of causing damage environmental pollutionThe strategy stipulates that transboundary environmental issues will be managed and strict monitoring will be done.

Additionally, the strategy focuses upon solving key environmental issues such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing climate change.
