Many municipalities and counties provide services to residents, including collection of oil, paint, antifreeze, batteries and electronic scrap. These BOPAE materials can be safely handled, but they are not suitable for collection at household hazardous waste events. Tennesseans should contact their county solid waste department to locate BOPAE collection points in their area.
To prevent cross-contamination and spillages in your truck’s trunk or back, place materials in sturdy cardboard boxes. Keep materials away from pets and children.
