Girl Guides lead the way in environmental and gender equality

On 22ndGirl Scouts and Girl Guides around the globe recognize World Thinking Day in February. World Thinking Day has been celebrated since 1926. It is a day of international friendship. It’s a day to raise awareness about issues that affect young girls all over the world.

This year’s theme was Our World, Our Equal Future.Since Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting began over a century ago, connection to the natural world and our environment has been a cornerstone of Girl Guiding. It is still vital and relevant today.

Participating girls in a range activities will allow them to explore environmental issues, practice gender equality mindsets and take action.

Girl Guides SA is celebrating 110 years of Girl Guides SA opening their first unit in South Australia. It’s 110 years! Empowering girls and young ladies to realize their potential as leaders for the world.
