High-level Debate – From Code Red, to Code Green

Amidst growing convictions that the world is in a downward spiral and fear that geopolitical developments will shift attention and budgets away from environmental priorities, the closing session at Green Week 2022 will address these fears and provide solutions.

The EU Green Deal is designed for avoiding fatalistic scenarios. It provides credible roadmaps that will help to steer world economies toward a more sustainable path. It is not only a long-term solution for increasing European autonomy in energy, resources, and innovation but also a statement of our values, and fundamental freedoms such as the right and ability to live in a clean and healthy environment.

The Green Week closing session, which will showcase leading environmentalists on the ground, will explore ways to spread the message of hope more widely and win over audiences who are currently more convinced of more pessimistic scenarios.
