Richard Evans, an electronic musician based in Manchester, releases Sentinel, his new electro-pop album via all the major streaming platforms on February 25, 2022.

Sentinel, a collection consisting of eight original songs, is currently receiving airplay and positive reviews all over the world. It combines analogue synths and sequences along with melodic hooks or drum machine rhythms. The album, mixed by award-winning sound designer Hervé Girardin, tells a story of humanity at a tipping point and a world trapped in a climate crisis.

Sentinel was recorded during COVID lockdowns. It is a multimedia live show that was originally commissioned by Manchester Science Festival with additional support from Creative England and Arts Council England. The live show has been performed at festivals all over the country, including Light Night Leeds, London, and Art Futura in London.

With a music CV that includes releases on legendary punk label Crass Records and a stint playing keyboards with James, this is Evans’ first solo release. He states: ‘Sentinel is an electro-pop concept album. It’s important that art has something to say about the world we live in and there is no bigger issue than climate change. The album is my take on the different facets of the subject – from the impact of micro-plastics to the paranoia of COVID; from the origins of life to global climate protests, all in a pop package.’

Sentinel is available on streaming platforms such as Bandcamp and Amazon Music, Tidal, and Apple Music.

Exclusively available through French distributors Diggers Factory is a limited edition white 180gsm vinyl version. Only 300 copies are available.
