According to profitline.hu, 180 NGOs wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister requesting that the protection of natural resources, environment and climate be included in the incoming government through an independent ministry.

The country will be facing threats in the next round of government, such as the war with Ukraine, the energy and economic crisis, and the biodiversity/climate crisis. The letter stated that another epidemic could not be ruled out.

In such circumstances, responsible policies must place greater emphasis on protecting the environment in government’s strategy. They should also consider the conservation and protection of natural resource in all economic and socio-economic sectors, as well as the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation, Association of Nature Conservationists and WWF Hungary.
