MANKATO During the ceremony preceding the Minnesota Pork Congress, the Minnesota Pork Board awarded Larry Liepold, Okabena the Environmental Steward of the year award in 2022.

In the 1990s, Liepold joined Minnesota Pork Producers Association’s executive board. He was also president of the association in 2001 and 2004. He was also a member of the National Pork Producers Council advocating for agriculture.

Liepold started strip-tillage more than 15 years ago on his farm. He now plants cover crops.
