Taranaki Regional Council will launch its most recent state of the environment report in June. This is seven years since the last snapshot was taken.
The new document will focus on three key topics air and water, and will expand upon the 2015 findings.
It will also provide updated information about the regional impact of climate change.

TRC stated that the ecological health and the chemical and physical state of freshwater in the area was in the best condition ever. Land, air, and coastal resources were also in great shape in 2015.
However, there were some vocal critics, including Dr Mike Joy (freshwater ecologist) and the Green Party, who questioned the 2015 report’s conclusions.
The new report, due to be launched publicly on June 28, will be used to guide future TRC planning and policy, as well to prioritise activities and identify areas where targeted interventions are most needed.
TRC’s policy- and planning committee received and noted a memorandum outlining the launch date for the report.
The Environment Aotearoa 2022 report was released last month. This comprehensive assessment provided a comprehensive assessment on the state of New Zealand’s natural resource resources.
Among the findings were how human activities were affecting New Zealand’s land and air quality.
