You just say, “You’re wrong.” And then you just sit down, and life continues. He couldn’t talk the rest of his day. We are constantly receiving very serious threats at home. The tone becomes more and more severe. It’s quite toxic. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

“I want the American people think about what’s going on in our country, that this type of hate, this fear is occurring in communities across America,” Dingell stated. “We need to be very concerned about our democracy. We need to find a way to disagree with people but do it civilly and agreeably. This really has me very worried.

Upton stated Jan. 6 that “it was a scary day.” “And that’s why i voted for an independent commission. It was passed in the House. It was supported by a large number of Republicans, but it was not adopted by the Senate.
“I have many friends on the other end and what we need is for all of us to remember how much we have in common, to respect each other, to treat each other with dignity,”Dingell said. “And I say it to everyone, a little bit of kindness towards someone can make a big difference in their day, week, and life.
