His Majesty King Hamad yesterday approved and issued Law (7) on the Environment for 2022.
Law 7 of 2022 states that Decree Law (21) of 1996 regarding the Environment shall be repealed.
In the meantime, existing environment-related regulations or edicts will continue to be in force until the Supreme Council for Environments issues regulations or edicts for implementation of Law 7/2022.
In consultation with the Supreme Council for Environment, and other competent authorities, the Prime Minister will issue the executive regulation for Law 7 of 2022.
The Supreme Council for Environment president will issue all necessary edicts for the implementation of Law 7 of 2022 as well as its executive regulation.
