A bill to improve environmental justice considerations in public policy across Oregon has cleared a legislative hurdle and is expected to pass. HB 4077 The governor would rename and increase resources for the existing environmental justice task force. He also directed the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to create an online mapping tool to assess how communities are affected by environmental hazards such as air pollution and health disparities. Joel Iboa, chair of Environmental Justice Task Force and executive director of the Oregon Health Authority, will be joining us. Oregon Just Transition Alliance, an environmental justice advocacy alliance.
